Location. Housed in a 1908 three storey Sicilian villa with gardens and situated in the town of Taormina, the Hotel Bel Soggiorno enjoys an excellent hillside position overlooking the Bay of Naxos. The beautiful Villa Communale Gardens are 300 metres from the hotel and Taormina Castle, a medieval ruin, is 500 metres away. Taormina railway station is one kilometre from the hotel and Catania Fontanarossa Airport is 60 kilometres from the hotel, with an approximate driving time of 60 minutes.
Hotel Features. A complimentary buffet breakfast is served each morning in the breakfast room, which offers magnificent views across the Bay of Naxos. The hotel's terraced gardens have the same superb views as well as lemon and orange trees. There is a 24 hour front desk, a lounge bar and free parking.
Guestrooms. The 42 air conditioned guestrooms are located over four floors and have light decor, antique style furnishings including wrought iron lamps and bedsteads, tiled floors and balconies with superb sea views. All guestrooms are equipped with satellite television, safes and telephones. Bathrooms provide hair dryers.
Expert Tip. Seventeen kilometres from Taormina, on the slopes of Mount Etna, is the Castagno di Cento Cavilli, the Chestnut Tree of 100 Horses. This tree, split into three trunks, is reputed to be 2000 years old and is named from a legend that it sheltered 100 knights on horseback one stormy night.
